Research Intern, Generative, Multimodal and Agentic AI

  • Conducted applied AI research in multimodal AI, AI alignment, RAG systems, and agentic intelligence under the Intelligent, Robust, and Trustworthy AI initiative led by Dr. Amit Sheth.
  • Co-authored research published across AAAI, IEEE, AAMAS, ACM TOCH, and ACM Health, with applications in healthcare, manufacturing, and intelligent decision support.
  • Served as the primary website manager of aiisc.ai. Animated and designed demonstration videos for major international conference submissions, as well as AI educational content for high school students in underrepresented communities.
  • Built AI systems including SmartPilot, Pic2Prep, and CANDI, developing multimodal pipelines, retrieval frameworks, benchmarking methodologies, and domain-specific knowledge systems.
  • Curated large-scale datasets, evaluated LLM reasoning and hallucination, and collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to translate research into deployable AI solutions.
  • Presented research findings at international IEEE and AAAI conferences, contributed to grant-supported projects, and helped advance real-world applications of trustworthy and human-centered AI.

Undergraduate Research Assistant

  • Developed an agentic Edge AI pipeline on PYNQ and Raspberry Pi 5 to capture real-time images from an optical camera monitoring a metal 3D-printing process and detect pores and anomalies.
  • Designed and trained computer vision models for manufacturing defects including pores and surface irregularities during printing.
  • Explored on-device deployment and acceleration of vision models for real-time defect detection in additive manufacturing.
May 2025 to Aug 2025USC Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing

McNair Junior Fellow

  • Collaborated on FPGA-based symbolic accelerators using Vivado and Vitis for hardware testing and performance evaluation, and co-authored ML-Based Automata Simplification for Symbolic Accelerators.
  • Contributed to AutoSlim, a machine-learning framework that reduces automata graph complexity and improves FPGA efficiency.
  • Completed an independent project on compact neurosymbolic AI for on-chip Trojan detection in edge controllers and presented the findings at the 2025 Summer Research Symposium.
Jan 2023 to Dec 2023USC Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing

UG Developer Assistant

  • Developed an Apple Watch app to record 3D accelerometer data for human activity recognition.
  • Used a data pipeline to label and preprocess activity data, focusing on smoking-related gestures.
  • Applied k-means clustering and machine-learning methods to identify activity patterns and support real-time smoking detection.
